I like it. Consider a much tighter crop to remove the orange...it's tough to have the cool-temp columns along with the warm room. FWIW

That hot spot in the background pulls the viewers eyes hard away from the subject's face. Probably soul crop that out. Brightest spot of an image pretty much always gets the first attention.

I disagree. The story is not just about her -- it's about the place as well.

That's ok if you don't like my comment. But I have to ask, did you post your photo to just get likes or to improve your photography?

I understand about the location, it is a great place that you have selected to take her photo but her placement and/or the angle that you took the photo from could have been better because that hot spot pulls your eyes away from your main subject's face. Ask yourself, what is the subject in the photo, is it the light in the background or the child? Use all of your elements to bring attention to the main subject not compete with it.

My eye goes straight to her. the bright spot is noticeable but the subject is strong enough for me to keep me concentrated on her.
Nice shot.

Rather than crop the hot spot out, couldn't you just darken it a little in pp? Nice image anyways.

I usually prefer black and white images over colour but in this case the colour image is way more striking.
