I spent at least 30 weekends in HK while working in China. Like Honolulu, it's near the Tropic of Cancer. Winters can be wet & cool, and summers are hot, humid & wetter, supplemented with the occasional typhoon. Flying into HK was very entertaining when they were still using the old Kai Tak airport, primarily because the planes had to maneuver very close to some tall buildings. The new airport is world-class, but located much further from the city center. Regarding the Ferarri's, BMW's, Mercedes, etc., keep in mind that the HK price is at least double what you would pay in the USA. The people are wonderful.
