I love this image, the composition, what's happening in the background, especially the moment between them, the soft lighting. It all works well. What I don't feel is real strong is the post work. Obviously the vintage effect does not work on 'this' image. Darkening the image like you did in the 2nd edition is very nice, blurring the background some more is cool. But I would have stopped there or possibly converted to B&W. Adding the light streaks killed it. Why? Not because light streaks are not believable but because of the way that they were added. They look like, well, a PS job. They do not look natural. Photo enhancements at this level are very tricky to pull off. If you don't get it perfectly right, if it looks even a little fakey, you kill your image. In those cases you are better off leaving things alone.
