The past couple of weeks of winter have been rather interesting shooting my friends. Here are four shots with different stories........ and very diverse styles....
Cailey is a delightful lady who spent six months doing yoga in Thailand. She recently returned home to Calgary -- and I was pleased she wanted to shoot again. This shot is in my garage doorway last friday on a cool winter afternoon wearing my 1970's fur coat:

My dear friend Kat loves to create head pieces. A week and a half ago, the weather was a cool -10C but she wanted to shoot this new piece out of doors.

Five days ago, Olga invited me over to see what her friend (another Olga) was creating for a hair contest later in the year. I watched the construction for a while. After a bit we got hungry and went downstairs to the kitchen for some delicious borstch. The hair piece looked interesting in the tungsten kitchen light. The piece designer grabbed a daylight temperature reading lamp and pointed it into the top of Olga's hair. I rather liked the effect of the mixed cold and warm lighting. Interestingly, I did a formal shoot on Saturday with three different models and hair pieces that will probably be used for contest submission -- the pieces are quite incredible.

Tonight, Nadya and Urd came over to do a bit of face painting. Nadya applied the face paint on Urd ... the effect was very much in the style of Picasso -- a bit on the cubist side of art:
