The nearest tree to the prairie dog colony I have been watching is about 30 yards away from the colony. I parked near the tree and waited for a hawk to show up. 2 hours latter he did show up for a couple of minutes.

Patience has paid off here....great shots and a great strategy to get some pictures of this guy....natural baiting is the best

Maybe I should have just parked myself in one spot on the beach this weekend and the owl may have just flown to me
