great comp, great colors the green BG with the red and black work very nice....if I had to find the most minor of nitpicking I'd say the pose looks a teensy rigid/stiff, not completely relaxed but sitting on a piano ain't exactly comfy..she's a natural beauty with minimal makeup...think you hit a home run here...er', I mean scored a futbol goal

I think you're right about that. It was the first shot of the night.

The background was grey paper but I re-coloured and retextured it to suit. Glad you like it.

Ok, you're going to make me break my promise again. This is wonderful, I really like it. You made a great choice on texture and color of the background in post, it really compliments her and adds a nice mood to the photo. I love her expression.

The only thing you might want to check (please don't shoot me) is the color of her right hand compared to her left.

I made sure I gave it a "like". I also voted for it to be the featured thread.

Yes her left hand seems lighter. Maybe the white light on the left hitting it. That's the problem with mixed lighting I guess.

I went back and looked on a better monitor. The brightness difference doesn't bother me, it was the difference in WB. Since this is mixed lighting, her left hand is closer to the warmer source and her right hand is closer to the cooler source. That's what I'm seeing. For some reason, it it more apparent in the hands than in the face.

On the other monitor, it looked like in addition to the right hand being cooler, it looked like it was shifting a little to the green. I don't see it nearly as strongly on this monitor.

I edit using a calibrated monitor and it drives me crazy to then view the same photo on other monitors where the image looks different.

Very nice job of masking when dropping in a different background.

Lots to like about this shot *except* the piano.

I mean, why put her on a piano if you are not showing it? Just an uncomfortable seat is what it becomes.

Most wouldn't have know it was a piano if you hadn't told us

Yeah that wasn't my idea. She was already sitting on the piano when I walked in. Still, it got her up to a decent height.

I like the colour treatment, and mixing different colour temperatures. Maybe she doesn't seem too relaxed in the pose, but her eyes are just shining!

Great shot! And I like the mood. The only thing that bothers me - maybe it is monitor I am using, is that her right arm seems to have some texture on it....
