There was a post not long ago where advise was sought on how to capture small birds in-flight. I have struggled with this for quite sometime.

Today, I came very close to capturing quality shots of small birds IF. I now have to devote more time to this task.

Posting 15-images from today. Some are ok, some are better than ok and some are not too shabby. I have my favorites and those who view will have favorites but, the whole is greater than the parts.

Wowza UT on those Cards! The females look outstanding, the males have the right color but I think too much saturation and less will yield more feather detail I think for you on them. Great look to the eyes on all!

Super cool to catch those poses on the TT.......the bail off IF shots remind me of what Larry Williams likes to pull off

Ohhhhh buddy I like what you got on the Dove images, very nicely captured and shown!

Great work Tedster. I too have tried my hand at the feeder bird flight thing, than I got rid of my 300 f2.8

I'd say you've done pretty well Ted. Doves count as a little bird in my books, and I see it in flight. Well done!!!

10 and 15 are my picks for the win. Great set, I find these small birds are pretty much luck of the 10-12 FPS to get a good shot more than anything. I was trying on Chickadees and Juncos that are very small and for sure with them it was all luck in the end.
