"Celestial Bend" (NOT Horseshoe Bend)
An original location about 500-700 feet down in what I call the "crack" on one of the goose neck bends on the Glen Canyon. A very favorite and special place of mine to solo camp. I set my alarm to get up to do some night shots and was greeted with just enough moon light from behind/right to not have to do an outrageously high ISO capture. The bright light in the scene is not the moon, it is Venus. Also if you look very carefully, the moon is reflected in the clouds on the right!
This was shot with:
Canon 5D Mark 2
Canon 14mm L2
f/2.8
30 seconds
1600 ISO.
In camera noise reduction (dark frame) was used. It is a single raw file, double processed for noise reduction. One with no Luminance noise reduction and just a little capture (deconvolution) sharpening (30pts) for the land. The other with no capture sharpening and an appropriate amount of Luminance noise reduction for both the sky and water.
More details on my FB page.
As always most accurately viewed on a calibrated monitor on Safari, Firefox or Chrome.
