I finally found a snowy owl and although i did not get any good flight shots this beauty hung around on the beach all day for me.There was not another soul around and it let me inch my way to within 30 feet before it said enough is enough and would chose another spot.He never went very far 50- 60 yards and the process would start all over again. It was sunny and very windy and that is why i think it was squinting at me most of the day sun and sand make me squint too. These shots show not the best of surroundings but i take what i get. In two days i will have been posting on Fred for 1 year and i just want to give a great big THANK YOU to everyone who has helped me in a hobby/passion that i love Please feel free to comment and as always thanks for your support

Congrats Mike on finally finding a snowy. It is very exciting to see these wonders of nature.
Sorry you didn't get any flight shot. They are hard to come by. Great shot by the way.

Some people would call this stalking...not good to make the subject ill at ease enough to make it fly to another resting place...just a thought
Thanks for reminding me what i already know, stalking is defined in Websters as to pursue quarry or prey stealthily -to pursue by stalking-to go through an area in search of prey or quarry That being said I can say with a clear conscience that at no time was this bird stressed by my presence. In point of fact i sat in that birds company for over 2 hours at that distance before it decided to fly off.Maybe next time you what to comment on one of my posts you PM me and save us both an embarassing situation. Just a thought
