Giant Sequoias in Sequoia National Park, California. Photographing these trees in groves, as well as the Coast Redwood is a challenge in terms of having even light and the ability to show their immense size relative to other tree species in the forest- seeing the forest for the trees

On this day in May, 2004, the light was just right, made possible by a few minutes of light fog and the nearby smaller fir trees for scale.
