Good lighting, great action, good DOF from being at f/8 and not f/4. (see I'm learning!!)

I really like the inclusion of the OOF ducks up top, I actually didn't even see them on first glance as I was drawn to the action but I think as you spend more time looking at the image it adds some uniqueness to the whole thing. The shot is really, really good Tim.

Pretty intensive shot Tim, looks like the GBH is standing firm to the challenge and that the eagle stands to be gored by the GBH! I think the eagle was using the GBH as a spotter and attempted to steal the prize

I call these elements subliminal, in this case they create proximity and show a boundary, effective element IMO too.

Right Geoff, if I shot this wide open it would be an OOF disaster for the eagle.

I did play with removing the birds up top but they do aid the shot. See Karl's comment

I think the eagle really didn't care what happened, this guy was cocky
