Went on a trip to visit my father in law, and some good friends this weekend. Friday evening, Ruben and I took off and just decided to play around on the east rim of Lake Billy Chinook. Got there late and just wanted to see what we could capture as the sun set. Saw a very interesting green pool down below and the drama in the sky. Nice pleasant evening sharing a sense of discovery with a friend.

Mark - Thanks very much. I take the comments very deeply as this is your back yard. Should be out there more often now that I have a vehicle with better milage (took only 1/4 tank to get out there from Hillsboro.) so we should connect on one of my runs out.

Nicely composed and nicely processed. I hope I'm correctly assuming that you used post-processing to bring out the best in the D800's high resolution, dynamic range, and other image qualities. Whatever you did, it is well done. I really like these.

John, Thank you very much. I do process as the camera never fully captures the human experience. That is the goal of my processing...to put the soul back into the static capture.
That looks like a cool place, and you had some great drama with those clouds. I don't really have a favorite of the group, but in #3 I would suggest cropping or losing that lower right edge. I think it would cleaner if the rocks ran all the way to the side rather then stopping right before the edge.
Wonderful place and very beautiful pictures. I like so much the compositions and the tones of the three images, but my favorite is the second one. It gives a good idea of the enormous space out there. Very well done!
Really interesting set, Roman. And, it's a new place I don't think I've heard of before (us east-of-the-Mississippi people are geographically challenged sometimes).
My favorite of this set is #2. I like the combination of near and far, warm and cool. Very nice, and I can understand why you like the place.

Ha, for one entire year, I drove every weekend from Portland to Sunriver in an dodge 2011 Durango with a 5.7L Hemi. Talk about needing better gas mileage Billy Chinook is awesome. Can't wait for summer to get the boat out.
