The recent postings by everyone of eagles, snowies, and other critters have been delightful.
Today was cloudy and windy, but I HAD to get out. Fortunately, there was a beautiful baldie waiting for me just above the Gallatin River. Even with marginal lighting, today's first eagle of 2014 was a treat!

Thanks Tim and Morris. Tim, The bird was spotted while perched on a different tree where the bird was being bounced around by very gusty wind. I figured I would crank up the iso and shutter speed to try to capture an image there. As soon as I got out of the car, the eagle flew across the river to the second tree (pictured). I ran over to a new position to quickly capture a pic under continued gusty/windy conditions before the bird quickly took off again. Morris, the 3 D effect is no doubt due to my having a Zeiss lens in the camera bag in the car.
