As far as composition, subject matter and lighting they all are great. I like the the 3rd bear the most and also like the cub shot. I find all of them to be somewhat OOF or maybe just under sharpened as presented on screen. They look like they may actually be in focus and sharp but you do have to over sharpen to have them look good on FM I've found.

I do like the third shot Richard, what pretty light to set the subject off so nicely with. The Puffins seem to have some selection artifacts going on around them

#3 is my pick too. Cub sure is cute. Puffins look like they are in the initial phase of being beamed up to the USS Enterprise.

A nice set Rich. The last two are my picks. In 3, focus seems to be on the clump of grass to the left of the cub ~ Ron

I noticed that too. But it doesn't appear on the image on my computer or in the prints I made. I don't know what caused that - could be my inexperience posting images.

Actually, like the puffins, the first two bear pictures as posted don't accurately reflect the images on my computer - which are quite sharp. I created 13X19 prints of those images and they are very sharp. I suspect that it is due to my inexperience preparing images to be posted. I'll give it another try with some other Alaska trip photos.

Your third shot is really nice!! I agree with morris about the first 2 shots being front focus or it does look that way.
