Driving along while I am looking for cats and dogs our sharp eyed Seattleite picks out a wonderful Tawny Eagle sitting on a branch. It takes me a minute to find it...I'm much better at movement than color so it does take a bit but when I do I realize we have a glorious photo op. The light is awesome, the perch is beautiful with a fairly unique symmetry to the raptor. We normally might think of cloning out a little branch coming out but in this case it is almost a mirror image of the eagle's beak....so in it stays.

Great opportunity that you used to wonderful effect and beautiful images. Yes, I agree, the bark curl stays. Wow! really like them, with #1 being my fav with the classic pose. TFS.
Great sighting by that westerner! It is a nice series. #2 is my pick, but #5 is a close 2nd. Looks like you had some fine raptor shooting on your trip; you don't always get that. Unless you are getting soft on cats and switching to the dark side of feather photography!! Don't do it!!
Don
I still think that's a Redtail/Golden eagle hybrid
Stunners Eric Oh that light, perch and bird, what a combo. My only nit... you knew this was coming... I would never even consider cloning out that branch Excellent work my friend.
You sure did have the light Eric. Awesome shots. You should probably go see an eye doctor (maybe one of those less expensive optometrists) to see if they can fix your vision

Thanks but what I need is a retroactive geneticist to implant the right DNA while I was in-utero 60 years ago so my cones work properly....it is frustrating to say the least! If only I could find Marty McFly

Beautiful series with the Tawny Eagle, Eric! Seems he was just sitting there waiting for his portrait to be taken. This is another eagle we can add to our collection thanks to your efforts.
