~Another image from first rainy day of 2014. This was another pair of Barred Owl. The squirrel was so brave that it was running around the Barred Owl for a short period of time. It seemed like it was playing a game with the owl. The Barred Ow made several attempts trying to catch it but the squirrel was too quick and got away. It was a lot of fun to watch.

~The light was bad on Saturday. We spent 9 hours out finding and photographing Barred Owls yesterday. This was one of the third pairs that we found.

Good stuff Troy. Neat interspecies activity. The tail on the squirrel sure looks fluffed out.

Very nice Troy. I did find the watermark a little distracting in images 3 & 4. I certainly like the interaction in the first one.

Thank you all.
Calls were used, placement of the speakers was the crucial point to get him to fly at the angle we wanted them to do.
These were from several pairs, not the same one.
From all the pairs I photographed in here, one of the two actually would fly towards the caller. he/she had tried to pick up the speaker in the past.
