When i shot with Canon I used the Zeiss 18mm/3.5, 21mm, 50mm Makro, 100mm makro. I thought they were all great. When i switched to the Nikon D800-- i went with the Nikon 100mm macro and 200mm/4 Micro AIS instead of the Zeiss 100mm. However i still purchased the 50mm makro and the 18mm 3.5mm. I think the Nikon macro lenses are better than Canon. The Bokeh from the nikon macro lenses are really nice. I also think that the Zeiss 50 and 100mm makro lenses are great for close ups but perhaps not the best in terms of long distance shooting-- e.g. landscapes. So I decided to go with the Zeiss 135/2. I received it today and took some test shots on the D800 and Sony A7R and very impressive. Sharp and nice bokeh. I started to do some comparisons with the Nikon 85mm/ 1.4 but had limited time so no opinion as of yet.
In general, very impressed with the Zeiss lineup.
I have to say I love the zeiss lenses i have mentioned.
