As I look through and edit these photos, I am so impressed with the 1DX! The tracking and focus is heads and shoulder better than my 7D I used the last 2 seasons. I am actually giddy with the percentage and amount of wall hanger and keepers. I don't want to blow up the forum with daily eagle post, but I find my self going through the photos over and over again.

I think I have 23 fishing sequences with no wing clipped! I had 3 from the last 2 seasons.

Here is something a little different.

Next up on my bucket list: an in air fish fight

I'm going to agree with Don here too. This is a much better shot than the wall hanger. The colors are good, the composition is excellent. The position of the bird is really good with a full wing spread and full fantail of the tail feathers. And, the second OOF eagle adds to the composition.

This one is the better image. If you don't like the white sky, I'm sure the photoshop people here can easily tell you how to put in any sky you want. However, I like the white sky against the white tail feathers.

Awesome Kent. I also will sing the 1DX's praises till the cows come home. Or until Canon pushes 36MP at 12FPS, then I'll move on

Great job Kent, I would think any 1D series body would be a substantial improvement to the 7D , but the 1Dx is the latest and fastest out there now, so there is a big difference. Good luck with it.

hey guys, I have 7D 5DIII and a 1DIII. if you only had the choice to use one of these cameras for birds with no more than 400mm reach, which would you use. Nice photos by the way. 1DX way out of my price range

Nice job Kent, the 1Dx proves over and over it's one of the best all around cameras. Of course you have a lot to do with the outcome.

I have yet to go to L&D 14 this year. Supposed to get a bunch of snow there today, I may visit on Friday.

Nice flight pose Kent... the dynamic range of the 1DX is impressive.

Thanks for all the nice comments! Yesterday is snowed all day and no real keepers. Getting ready to edit today's batch. Shooting again tomorrow and then home to get ready for work

Kent, you can give some kudos to the new camera but you have at least a year behind you...more credit should be given to you and your experience as a camera has "nuttin" to do with clipping.
