What an interesting set Greg!! Love those green-eyed flies. Bird is cool too. Tough to pick a fave as the set is so varied and well done.

Great set Greg.

Is that snack a piranha?

Bruce

...(catching up)...

Thanks, Bruce! Yup; a piranha protein snack. ~Greg

Beautiful set, Greg. Love the lighting and the scene you captured. Look like those fish's sharp teeth cannot do any more harm. :-)

Thanks so much, Tam! Brazil was amazing; the experience of being in an exotic place for a short period of time is complementary to planning and observing wildlife at home (and trying over and over again for great shots of the same set of subjects). Now, if I could only spend more time in the Bay Area!

Beautiful photos, Greg. I have to agree with Bruce; the last photo appears to have the Jabiru snacking on a piranha.

Incredible birds and wonderful captures, but #4 is just fantastic and deserves a place on your wall. Truly amazing. What time of year were you there?
Don

Appreciate it, Don! I was in the Pantanal in mid-September, and all the credit goes to Eric (eyelaser) for travel and location advice. I think anytime between June and September should be pretty good; if I had to do it all over again, I would rent a car and spend a couple days on the transpantaneira.

Wonderful captures each and every one!
Love them all Greg!
Eric

Ah, Eric, it's thoughtful of you to stop by, especially since there seems to be a paucity of felids in this set! Hope you're doing well; your enthusiasm and prolific contributions are an inspiration!

Yahoo! Well done and that catch is a first for me and I think on FM as well. Tasty treat for sure but do they digest the teeth? Never really thought about it but dang that is cool

Love the layout of your post, from flight shot to family and close-ups the effort is top notch.

Take care,
Brian

Thanks so much, Brian; the opportunity to observe Mr. Jabiru for a longer period of time would allow a definitive answer, but I suspect that teeth are treated (from a digestive perspective, that is) similarly to other elements of the skeleton. Thanks for stopping by! ~Greg
