Not sure of Burrowing Owls except for Coral Gables, but Fort Desoto State park is on the top of most photographers lists. Just go to the North parking lot and cross the little bridge and look around form there. PM if you need details.

Cap Coral library (north of Ft Meyers) there are lots of burrowing owls around the library.

I second the Ft. DeSoto suggestion. It is easy to get to and I have been very productive there in the past. I'll be heading there again in February.

Cape Coral. Feel free to give me a call and I will give you some specifics if you would like. I can also give you a heads up on an eagles nest with 2 chicks. They are less than a week old though.

Thanks everyone, truly appreciate the help. I went to Ft Desoto yesterday, got some Little Blue Heron, Willet and Little Egret photos. In general though it seemed sorta quiet out there. I'm going to take a drive down to Cape Coral this coming week, Eric I'll be giving you a call.

thanks again

Ft Desoto is best when the tide is out. Small pond after the little bridge in well known for reddish and white morphed egrets. Good luck at Cape Coral, you might try Ding Darling NWR on Sanibel Island, it is closed on Fridays for your info.

Venice Rookery.

About an hour south of St. Pete, and well worth a visit. Best to get there at (or a little before) daybreak; the island will be full of big birds. Leave the teleconverters at home.
