As I drove to the beach I went into a bank of fog that got thicker and thicker. By the time I was there visibility was ¼ mile or less. I wondered to myself if I’d be able to find the snowy owl. As you can see I did. The sun was starting to burn through when the owl blasted off producing this bright background.

All: D200 + 80-400 VR @ 80mm, ISO 400, 1/400, f8, fill flash (SB910 + Better Beamer), 2x crop

I like these Morris but I would like to see more separation from the bg. As a minor suggestion, try the black curves dropper using the talons as a point of reference. I will not do a redo/repost as I would hate to ruin the image.

Interesting with the flash. I'd like to see a faster SS to stop the wings. I feel the flash washes out the contrast too much here. IMO. Don
