Last year we spent the month of March in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Didn't do a lot of wildlife shooting but we did spend a day with our own elephants. Bathed them, fed them, and rode them bareback. Lots of fun and we went to a very responsible place outside of Chaing Mai that seemed to be doing good for the elephants. I concentrated on more detailed shots and then the rest are all with us in them. I'm posting one taken by our guide at the end. GF may want it taken down later but enjoy it for now

Cool close ups, Geoff! That groggy look with baggy eyes in the first image is what I feel like before I have my coffee in the morning

The first shot is pretty cool Geoff. Really neat details and colours. Last one looks like a lot of fun.

All are good, last is wonderful! Another nice DINK side effect

BTW, a bit ironic that you take eye photos and not a tusk in sight....just sayin'

The first is fabulous Geoff and I also like the third. Were you all wet in the last or was the water between the camera and the subjects?

Thanks Morris for the picks.
We had been bathing them in waist deep water before we did the spray photo op. So yes we were already soaked and they just sprayed us even more

Thanks Ken. The day spent with the ellies was one of the highlights of our entire trip.

Congrats for thinking 'inside' the box Geoff

I have never shot large animals, guess this might be a good way to acclimate to the whole picture

I like what you saw and how you captured it, great work and the last shot of both of you is like a celebration shot, love it man!
