Eagles are taking a break again, so I decided to post some bird species that I've never posted on here before. The white fronted geese aren't really supposed to stop in Whitehorse but they somehow found us this spring. The kingfisher keeps alluding me as always but this is my best shot. I was surprised how timid the Canada Goose was during spring migration time also, usually you should have to kick them away from you in other parts of NA but was hard to get close. The loons are gorgeous but also really hard for me to get close at my location.

Hope you enjoy, I welcome any praise and any critiques as well

1) Having a laugh, probably thinking that I don't have enough focal length

2) Loon gliding by...

3) Belted Kingfisher, also alluding me and flying off as I try to get closer

4) White fronted geese are an unexpected migrant

Nice variety here, Geoff. The CG obviously underestimated your prowess with the 600 and TCs- looks like you had the last laugh

. I like the loon and KF. Tough ones to get close to, for sure. Thanks for posting!

I got a laugh out of the first

The loon looks marvelous, love that shot. For the KF if you could have moved a bit to the left you would have had a better bg. Yeah I know, if you moved a bit to the left the kf would have flown

Just saying. For the WFG, the first shot has a wonderful flow to it. I'm not a big fan of cloning things out but... if you stamped over, clone stamp tool, the partial bird on the right the flow would go un-interupted.

Thanks Morris, I figured that you would tend towards that one.

I just reposted #4, realized I actually hadn't done any edits on it. I cloned out the tail of the one goose that was on the far right. Also sharpened, saturated a bit and brightened it with a bit of clarity thrown in.

Thanks Mitesh, not sure if I really had the last laugh...would love to get closer, maybe I should get a yak and throw it in that freezing water next year....I'm seriously considering it!!

Thanks David. Yes the graylag or "barnyard" goose is a domesticated species at least in NA. They are very similar looking except for the white-front part
