The snowy owl had flown into the dunes after someone spooked it on the beach. I watched when it flew off and headed to where I saw it disappear and chose to make my way it into the dunes about 100 feet from where I thought it was so that I would not startle it. There was open sand to my left and that is where most of the other photographers went with the exception of Eric who followed me at a distance. As I got close there was an open valley between me and the owl so I took my time crossing it making shore only to move when the owl was looking away from me and with about 15 photographers in the opening to my left there were plenty of distractions. I loved the environment and the look of the snow coming down so I decided I would not go as close as I had in the morning. This set will be my closing act from this shoot.
