Greetings,

This Vermilion Flycatcher was most cooperative sitting calmly on a fence line while posing for his picture. The reds were partially blown out. If anyone has any suggestions how not to blow out the reds it would be much appreciated.

You lucky guy!! I'd be no help on the blown reds. I have that problem with my 7D. This shot looks good for reds. Nicely done Thomas.

Reds look fine. You can always increase the saturation and vibrance. Watch your focus; this is on the body, behind the eye. Don

Much appreciated BB. He was in the typical flycatching mode, launching from the fence line picking up critters from the ground then returning to his perch and worked close enough for a shot. He is surely a beautiful bird!

That's a beauty Tom

To extend what Morris said, set your lcd to warn for highlights. Check the lcd often, if it is flashing on anything, darken the exposure.
