As icebergs melt, they often get out-of-balance and flip over.
Notice the now-vertical lines of the different snowfalls that happened many years earlier. As increasingly heavier snow fell through the years, the lower layers were compressed into "glacial ice."
After calving into the lake, this berg became out of balance and flipped about 90 degrees.
