This is the uber famous Oneonta Gorge in the Columbia River Gorge. You climb over a massive log jam and risk falling over, ruining your gear, getting soaked or perhaps even worse, and I've decided that I hate this place!

Not because I don't like it but because of the massive pain in the ass it is to get there. And, if you want to reach the falls, you have to walk in sometimes, chest-high water. Not for me...

Whew! that's a lot of negativity for a shot... But I actually LOVE this particular shot. Fall photographs fantastically well in the Gorge and I'm happy I didn't ruin my camera, although I did fall in the water prior to crossing the log jam...

Nice comp and the light glowing at the back and down the sides of the gorge are beautiful. No pain no gain and it is a great photo.

Thanks Jason, yes I am really happy with this shot. I almost didn't process it but then decided to spend sometime with it and it's become one of my favorite shots of late. I have another comp with the camera lower, closer to the water but there's less water texture. Maybe I'll spend sometime with it one of these days.

Ha!, like I would attempt to cross those damn logs when the water flow is high! Every step of the way I felt like I was about to slip under them and drown!
