Thank you Barry. Another outstanding image!
I hear you and wish you and your wife a speedy and complete recovery.
So far my wife and I have gotten lots of vaccine shots but stayed clear of Covid.
However, my middle son and two of his kids got infected and are clear now.
As a precaution we have not been getting together as usual with family members.
But we do now.
For us fire season is now over with the July Monsoon rains.
But we had two big fires locally in April and May.
The one just a few miles away burnt 45,000 acres.
We all got ready to evacuate but luckily didn't have to.
The Cerro Pelado fire followed more or less the path of the Las Conchas fire a decade ago and was contained by about a 1,000 fire men before it could reach the Lab or town site.
The big one on the other side of the Rio Grande valley in the Sangre de Cristos near Santa Fe burnt more than 350,000 acres. That fire actually started as a prescribed burn and got out of control.
Some days we had to stay inside not to breathe too much smoke.
Well, it's never dull around here.
With kind regards, Karl-Heinz.

K-H, thanks again, really appreciated We have both had 3 vaccines each, wear masks 95% of the time and regularly sanitise our hands when going out. We have absolutely no idea how we contracted it, it's a real mystery to us as we consider ourselves both pretty cautious ppl!
Glad to hear that you and your wife are Covid free and that your son and his family have made a full recovery, long may it stay that way my friend ;-) You have as many firemen than what the counties of Cornwall and Devon have combined!
Oh my 45,000 and 350,000 acres of fire, that must have been really scary for you all, what a terrible worry....Living in England it is hard for us to grasp the enormity of such fires as what you have to contend with, that would be the equivalent of 50% of Cornwall on fire!
Clearly you never have a dull moment...I pray you never have to evacuate your home or have to suffer smoke inhalation...stay safe and keep well my friend.
Best wishes to you all from Barry and Alison
