Although I bought this lens for it's gorgeous 'soap bubbles' I thought I'd give the US$50 and 60+ yrs old M42 Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 50/2.8 (on an A7rii) a run out around the block during my regular evening after dinner 5kms walk - since it can get pretty boring !
Nothing special, just 30 mins to process these five. I only live 14kms (about 8-9 miles) from downtown Shanghai city centre but it's most definitely not the Shanghai you'll see in tourist promotions ! I do love how safe all of the city is though, you can wander around virtually anywhere and at any time of day or night with impunity, gathering just curious stares.
The villa compound I live in is just down this canal off to the left, my home being far enough away from these flats not to be overlooked (and in fact they are not even visible from my garden) however the poor sods living in villas next to the canal now have unwanted neighbours looking right down onto their homes/gardens.
With only a single old coating it does tend to flare - notice I've untouched the flare here, on the trees to the right. Absolutely no issue at all with sharpness though !

People (and businesses) dump all their rubbish next to waste bins at night - knowing it will usually all be cleaned up by morning by the army of cleaners that hit the streets every night.

A busy 8 lane road is about 2kms walk away. Next to an Olympic sized sports centre whose flag masts are just visible in the background.

I've left this slightly off-kilter because I like the edginess it produces. A side lane to a popular local produce market.

The rumblings of traffic behind me made getting this shot an issue since the bridge trembled violently causing numerous blurred shots !
