Combination of twilight and moon light illuminates the scene creating surreal colours and mood. I took this photo on a hike to frozen Joffre Lake early winter. I used long exposure to create cloud movement and bring out more colours hidden in the clouds.
Single file with D800 processed mostly in Lightroom
24.0-70.0mm @58mm with circular polarizer
f 7.1 ISO 100
120 seconds 500px
Thanks for comments and enjoy.
This is a very cool looking shot, nice work on it. My only question though is why f7.1? Why not f8 if that's your thing. Myself I would have been shooting this at f11 or f13 which would have given you an even longer exposure and more cloud movement.

Jim
Maybe he could only count to 120
Great shot & plenty of smoothing in the time alloted.
Thank you all.
Jim, I took few shots with different exposure up to 240 second. This shot works best for me. 120 seconds gave enough movement to the clouds and preserved some character. f7.1 is simply a little bit sharper.

What a beautiful scene captured. It really is a dreaming mountain. I dream to go there
I like the subtle light and shadow hitting the mountains. My only wish is the lumps of snow weren't in the foreground as I think it would be even dreamier if the foreground was all white flat snow but that's just dreaming too much haha
