Alot of obvious sand/fuzz/redline/cutout/various on the face and hairline from what I see. I think you have some great captures and lighting but big issues in delivery. Perhaps due to PP?
I'm sorry to say.
Please keep at it, you certainly are on the right track.
Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it.
I think it may be PP problems. At the time, I was still learning how to do beauty retouching so I was following some tutorial videos when working on the images. I probably did a sloppy job and perhaps overdid the skin or sharpening. I have trouble determining what to do in the workflow and what tools to use. I'm still very weak in retouching, but I'll keep on practicing and learning.

Hit up some agency art directors in LA. Let them know who you are. Be honest. Say an international art director said you have talent and should make calls. That will get you in the door. Art Directors will recognize the talent. Shoot more and get your book together. Make a few of those "blurb" books, or even Apple or Costco books. Don't cost that much. Be prepared to leave one behind. Do the minimum pages to keep the cost down on the books. Take one of the great photos and make a 4X6 postcard at Postcard.com or any one of the cheap online printers. Send them out to ADs. You are in LA, center of the world for this kind of work. And your talent is unusual enough to get work. Make calls and hustle a little. Don't be afraid to walk into a big agency or studio. Lots of work out there. Don't change yourself. Just make the calls and get the appointments to show your book. Stay humble. Work with them. Use their suggestions. Be easy to work with. Follow directions. Work within budgets until you get famous. Be available. Work hard. ...Show more →
Thank you for all this great info! Have you worked in the industry? You sound like you have.
