Today I got out of bed at 4:00 am to go out to Scott's so we could go out and take pictures, we wanted to catch the sunrise at Castle Mtn in Banff Nat Park. My wife Donna asked me, Why do you guys get up so early all the time." I said " We need to be there before the sunrise and have our camera's set up and ready in anticipation of the event." She answers back, "ya well have fun."

It was a chilly morning -17.

I think it was worth it.

Dan, you definitely got a different take than Scott. I bow to both of you for weathering the cold for some awesome images. That hint of reflection you captured here really makes the picture for me.

At least you don't have a red parka'ed human in front of your image

Nice shot Dan. I like the subtle reflection in the water.

Maybe it paid to stay on the shore instead of in the river.

Hey Dan,

A very cool shot here. I like the look of it, but you do have a lot of banding in the sky, not sure if it's from your downsizing or your raw conversion. Are you processing in 16bit?
