Am trying to get back into macro; still love the spiders. These are studio shots. Both handheld with the MPE-65. The second one is at 5X.

Sincere apologies if the high magnification offends anyone's artistic sensibilities.

Would it help if I pointed out that not only do I consider myself an artist, I consider myself an Artiste?

All the best, Terrence

v.nice shots but they seem to lack a bit of punch, slight under exposure maybe or it might just be my monitor.

Terrence,

You have always been, in my opinion, the "Jumper guy" on this forum. Great close-ups of my favorite subject.

Julian

P.S. I would like an apology for your posting of these un-creative images...

Thanks for the advice Michael-- I upped the exposure and contrasts on the second one and reposted. I just try and eyeball these things on PS and I really don't know what I'm doing...

nice, light is super soft, I like it. Sometimes light is so soft the image starts looking softer as well just because you dont have that slightly harsher light picking up details and creating hard edge reflections.

Would be interesting to discuss if people have found some lighting 'too soft' and it not bring out all the details on your subject- i once used a dome like diffuser and did this on some hover fliers, light looked good, but different. Might also be using too weak flash power and slightly underexposing as well (?)
Anyway enough rambling, once again very nice shots, but would be interested to hear from other peoples light diffusion.

Aw, you guys have gone and made an inside joke that I missed out on... (I'm guessing)

Nice shots, Terrance.
