I photographed Catherine a few times in the past and this is our latest shoot when took place about a month ago. Of course this shoot will not be possible without my good friends - Catherine (model), Maria (HMUA) and Marisa (Stylist). Below are a few images from this shoot:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

OK I admit, I've a bit in love with Black and White at the moment so have processed more images from this shoot in B&W than in color.

More images from this shoot can be viewed at: http://www.thatstheshot.com.au/blog/2013/10/5/catherine-grant-at-melbourne-cbd

Thank you for viewing and all comments are welcome

Well, most of her outfits leave me wondering why But I really, really dig the classy outfit and composition in #4.

Hello David-D, very nice set once again. I know that many people love this kind of processing, but I just donīt understand why to put this "haze" to the pictures. For example in number two the hair almost disappears to the background (because of the processing I think).
Well, thatīs a matter of taste and I have changed my mind in these matters a few times before
But overall: the model is beautiful and I have always enjoyed yor pictures. Thanks for sharing them! Cheers,

Hi Teemu,

Thanks.
hahaha, I have given up asking why in many occasions
I only recently like this type of processing and I don't know why either and it took me a while to get to this look too Would have been much faster for me to just stick to my old ways of processing rather than exploring and adventuring outside my comfort zone

Yes, itīs good for everybody to go outside their comfort zones now and then. For example: my forte is probably the studio lighting, but during the last summer I did most of the shootings on locations. I even did a few pictures with some flare in them. And I basically "hate" the flare pictures, but especially the young ladies seem to love them

Not a big fan of this type processing but these are all very well done and the look works well with the model and photography. Very cool styling and the model is great for the look.

Kind of a 1960s-1980s fashion magazine look; I like.

Awesome work once again David.

Keep "breaking the rules" and posting your results. Liking your images or not, is subjective, but your willingness to show us variations of photographic and processing styles is inspiring.

Congratulations to you, your model and assistants.

Cheers,
Ian

#4 is beautiful. How did you light it?

Thanks. They all natural light (maybe some with on camera fill flash). That was shot around 1:30-2PM - strong sun light from camera left but still high.

Some cases appear to me to be too grey-on-grey. I would be tempted to spice them up with a touch of HDR or Equalization.

cheeky

I'm usually not a big fan of this post process where the contrast is tone down and almost no real blacks are visible. But i have to admit there's something magical about these ones, especially on # 3, 4 and 5 which are my favourites. Or could it be that the light and composition are so good i sort of look passed the PP and am simply amazed by the overall result ?

Hmm either way superb work David, very pleasant to look at. Exquisite model by the way :-)
