Making this image gave me a clear feeling of winter's nearness, as it was snowing sporadically that morning, although not at the moment I photographed it about two weeks ago. I'm sure it's even closer to winter's look now.

Dunderburg Meadows, off the Virginia Lakes road, eastern California.

the oranges are pretty great. Fall is such a brief and infuriating time of year. too quick and precise

A great scene of contrasts & change!
I saw the colors near Dunderburg Meadows peaking on my way home a week before this.
Was hoping for some snow & color. Maybe next year

Very nice! I like how my eye follows the tree color up to the snow line. Makes me want to get out to the Eastern Sierra next fall.

Thanks for bringing back up! I only had my iPhone before, and they don't do justice coming or going, so I wanted to look on a real monitor and am not disappointed. Very beautiful image and the scene really conveys the feeling of the transitional season.
