These two looked so sweet and friendly. They ended up licking my truck - looking for salt residue from the road. The background was fall foilage on the trees.

A wonderful image, Henrik.
You had to pick one for sharpness of focus- and with horns like that, it had to be the male.
Actually licked salt off your vehicle during the mating season? Wow, that was a treat for you to see them that close.

Love the beautiful Fall colors you captured H... and those horns are incredible, like wrinkles on older faces they show great character.

Thanks Birdie. I had to get back in the truck rather quickly as they were coming to lick the salt. Except there wasn't any. So they licked the dirt off the truck. Odd way to clean it.

Yeah, that was too bad. But there was no way - they were too close to me and too seperated from each other. Used a 500 f4. Suppose I could've used a short lens but then they'd have to be closer. And I wasn't having any of that.

Thanks Charlie. And yeah, got some video with my phone. Right beside the truck. Was quite something else. Moose to that too - lick vehicles to get the salt. Now THAT would be freaky. Don't want to make those guys angry. Mind you, I wouldn't want a ram to, well, ram my truck either.
