I spent about a week at Crater Lake earlier this year and here are some photos I managed to capture. It was difficult finding shots that haven't been done before, but I tried my best.
I would really like to go back sometime this winter for some different shots.
The second image is a bunch of photos stitched and focus stacked. It was an insane amount of post processing work and I think it took over 10 hours to get it finished. The main issue is trying to align images when the stars are in different positions for each shot. Everything had to be done manually, as automation failed big time.
Beautiful set of images Johan... mission accomplished as far as producing some unique perspectives of this iconic location.
1 and 3 are my favorites, #1 is very special IMO.
Very impressive work.
Wow... these are super cool! My favorite is #2 with the full Milky Way, but all of these are wall hangers for sure. You really made the most of your time there.
There are so many very bright milky way photos floating around today that those seem less remarkable to me than the one of the island, which is an unusual and unique take on the lake.
