Here in Maryland, the foliage doesn't look as vibrant as before. Maybe the leaves are changing one or two weeks later this fall?
It was a bit subpar in NJ this year, my backyard used to be beyond amazing nearly every year and now it's been three rather subpar years, still nice looking the last two but nothing like say normal as in, but instead they turned brown spotted and shriveled as much as turned, I mean still nice but nothing like normal:

(far worse the hurricane last year toppled the tree that sent out that amazing branch there from the right that is seen on the second one ), as was last year and the year before that was hideous. (year before THAT though was about the best I ever recall here and last year was about the best northeastern VT has been since before I was born from what I've been told). We've had weird wet Augusts and bone dry falls and odd weather the last few years in our region and Maryland is probably close enough to be a similar story; our leaves in northern NJ started turning extra early this though, not late, although it was sort of uneven many started like a week earlier than normal and then some turned at the normal time which also makes it not quite ideal, a few years back everything turned full force, no early drop, no shriveling or brownin, all turned at once, an unreal paradise everywhere you looked or went).
At least this Harriman/Beat Mtn has been pretty nice even in these down years, it's the one place that manages to get a solid turn almost no matter what, although it varies year to year too.
a couple that go red often from another year:
