Oh yes, he knew I was there, and so did the two does. I guess hiding behind trees helps, because they don't know exactly where you are. I also moved very slowly from tree to tree when they seemed to be occupied with eating. The images look like they were taken earlier in the day, but this was around 5 PM with the sun hidden by trees.
