Years ago, I took a group to China and southeast Asia.
In Bangkok people could ride an elephant, hold a giant constrictor snake around their neck, or just stand there and take pictures.
I chose the latter

.
But this member of my group was more open to being terrified.
And when the (calm) snake constricted to get a better hold (they don't like to fall), the woman had sudden doubts about the wisdom of her choice.

Thanks FS and Luke.
Poisonous snakes strike fear in my head- as do large wild constrictors.
But not so much in a setting like this. I just see no point in wrapping a large constrictor around my neck. Nor do I have any temptation to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. But I'm not a coward

Even though I've been to many countries and places where dangerous snakes are found, the only kind I've seen in the wild that concerned me was in the American southwest. A couple of rattlers- one of which I almost stepped on.
