Hi, I made this image last year nest to highway 62 on my way to Telluride and when checking my files I noticed there was a large Crow right there. Camera was on the tripod and I composed using live view, waited for a few people to leave the scene and shot using remote release. I made about 4-5 exposures. I was watching the road more than anything so I missed the bird flying through the frame! I know crows are very common birds and probably more of an annoyance to bird aficionados but I though it looks cool in the scene nonetheless. What do you guys think?

You sure caught the right time for shooting the scene...I believe the bird may be a Raven.

an also thanks for correctly identifying the bird. I am pretty clueless when it comes to birds. I should study up on them since they are the primary animal species on the island where I live.

I think the bird adds to the shot. It looks pretty big in the shot who's to say it's not an eagle.

It is a beautiful shot, I like that you cropped/composed out most of the sky. If I had my choice I would say no to the raven but that is only personal preference

I have a few shots without it.

Yeah, I composed the shot like that. This is actually the full frame as shot in camera using the 70-200.

Great looking shot...fence line trailing across the bottom is a nice touch...certainly tells the story of fall and a nicely composed shot...and with the crow/raven...it fits right into the forum, it's both nature & wildlife.
