A nice set Scott. The last is my pick although I would be tempted to tone down the oof 'sroom so it is less bright than the if one ~ Ron

Cool shots, Scott. Might be worth taking some extra time to clean the area around these guys before shooting. A rocket blower would have helped clean the tops of the first and last without harming the subject. I do like the colorful leaves surrounding the second shot. Adds very nicely.

Shrooms are great challenge, seems to take just the right angle and DOF to get them to work and they are not always found in the easiest areas to get good light with.

Nicely done. Some thoughts, isolation is often a key, perhaps you also have a longer lens to try these with and can line up sweet BG's with color?
#2 I am not sure of the dead center placement of subject, might try to move it higher into the frame but still enjoy the nice BG here

I like this shot.

I like what you did in the last, nice comp. Some vignetting or burning in to darken the BG could be helpful as Ron points out, he just can't stand any 'bright spots' in anyones picture ( I know from experience

)

My pick is #2...........love the natural feel, the elements tell the story, I wouldn't have touched a thing on this one

When I was on the ground I thought about cleaning up around the mushrooms but I am always so hesitant...I feel like I am going to overdo it and lose that "natural" look. I appreciate your comments..especially on #2.

Right now my longest lens is an old MF Pentax 70-210 that works and then doesn't work. I recently had to sell my Sigma 50-150 to help pay off some bills....

I appreciate your C&C....it's always appreciated. I have a few more to post tonight/tomorrow so I will have to revisit those and take some of your suggestions with me into CS5 or LR 5.2
