Fall pictures are not something I am good at, I always try for grand vistas and often something else is required that escapes me.

Today I took a drive with just my EOSM, a 22mm lens and no tripod. I just took snapshots. Like to hear if any of these work.

I processed them 99% on ACR as is.

I like the second one. I know what you mean about fall shots, sometimes more intimate shots work much better.

Hi Andy, thanks for looking. Of course with a fixed lens I could not zoom, but thought this was fairly intimate considering I usually shoot much wider on my 5d3. This is on that trail you mentioned but not as far up. I quit going here for sunrise because so much is in shade then. But you really hit it.

Nice shots Ben. #2 is my pick for composition, and subject interest. Jim

If you keep going up that trail the meadow I talked about is at the top of the ridge, so it gets sun much earlier than everything else. I think you could do it, once you make it up that first hill it's a really easy hike, I would have to look at my GPS but I don't think it's anything more than a mile.

Okay, I will be the oddball...I like #1 more. Less clutter for me. Looks like a fun little camera...which I have been thinking about getting.

If I get a chance this year I am going up there, Thanks for the tip. You gave me cascade meadows too.

I agree #2 is great as is. I think #1 would work better with a little tighter crop especially by cropping out some of the bottom. I know that would remove some of the Fall color but I think the color would be a nice frame for the mountains. Even as is #1 is a very nice Fall image.

Thanks, I have always walked past if I could not get all the tree or if there was any dead trees. Too much listening to on line comments. Aspen groves do not lend them selves to wholeness unless you are at a great distance.

Thanks and I have also gotten comments that I need to include the bottom of the tree. This is why I don't do well on partials, I always feel like I am breaking a rule, and if the rule itself is unintelligible to me to start with I just have to follow it blindly or ignore it. Wide vistas are easy, just get everything and try not to center it, which is usually impossible.

It is a great little camera, I did Deadhorse Point with my 5d3 while my grandson used this one. I printed both large and his looks pretty darn good. I am thinking about buying the adaptor now so I can mount other lenses.

Striking colour and light and the 2nd works particularly well.

Thanks Alun and JR. This inspired me to order the adaptor so I can use some of my other lenses. Maybe I try too hard.
