As most people enjoyed the shot from the 2nd nest in my first post, I have featured the eagles from that nest in this 2nd post. This nest provides amazing opportunities for photography and I was surprised to never run into another person while visiting it. I hope that trend continues next year

Wonderful series. Well exposed, clear, and sharp & detailed where it needs to be....with a nice narrative as a bonus! Your elevation in relation to the nest is really something, at least from my perspective. But then I remind myself that I'm three thousand miles or so away from this one, even if I knew where to look.
We get so many eagle posts here that honestly we are a bit jaded I'm afraid. Having said that these offer such a different perspective from above the nest as well as the intimate view in that I really love these. The first portrait shot in the spruce would be hanging on my wall...it is classic but also has so much depth and a killer background the off sets the eagle just perfectly. The calling pose is wonderful as is that menacing hunched up one. Very enjoyable series!

I love them all but the last 4 with the spruce trees as framing are outstanding !
A big thanks to everyone that took the time to leave a comment. I'm glad you enjoyed them. This post included my best of the adults but I plan to post some more of the juvies and some flight shots soon.
Very nice work Geoff, the angle on the nesting birds is not only unique but also quite refreshing. 4 is easily my pick of the set. I do like the wide opening shot putting the whole series in context. To crit, the first looks a bit bright and I would like to see the tails in the tighter shots
I do hope you get to enjoy this spot to yourself for years to come!
Tim: I appreciate the critique. I agree the first was washed out, I've uploaded a slightly darker version but it now is in spot 5. I added in the last bit of the tail in the full body calling shot. The hunched over shot is FF, I was backing into the bush to get him in the frame at 600mm and then he gave me that great pose so the tail is cut and framing is not ideal. For the closeups at 1200mm, no tails available but I don't think you meant those ones!!
