Jim,

Great shot. the comp is spot on with the falls flowing into the pool at the bottom. but why, o why is this sooo small?!?! you should really know better as one of the great mods of this forum. 400x600?!? its too a point where the leaves and fine details of the rocks in the background are muddled together and the whole thing is just kinda oof looking. i know its not oof but the way this was resized from the massive D800 file is not good.

if i lean back from my 27" screen it looks better but tiny

bigger please (even 900 or 1000 tall) =)

+1 Great shot but its hard to appreciate what today's high-def sensors (especially the D800's) can produce from such a small image. For me a 700 width for a portrait goes a long ways.

I like this one a lot and would love to see it bigger. The swirls are way cool.

Hey Tyler,

Thanks so much! I am glad you liked the shot.

Even though with horizontal shots we only list the 850pix max width, that works out to around 600 or so for it's height, the reason being to see the whole shot at once. So when I do verticals I always keep my height to 600 so that the shot doesn't have to be scrolled to be viewed. But.... perhaps it is time to go a little taller... I am a fiirm believer that if a viewer has to scroll to see a shot, they will not be able to fully appreciate or understand the composition. But perhaps I can try 800x600 on the vertical and see how it goes...

So good points!

Jim

PS... in the mean time, I am mailing you some reading glasses so that you can see the fine detail...

Hey Dave, I am glad you like the shot. And I appreciate your thoughts on the size of it. I will have to think more about that.

Jim, really love the vibrancy in the photo. The emerald greens contrasting with the cool blues...really nice.
