WA effort @ repetition.

Beautiful lighting, fine geometries, excellent placement against the open sky.
Not sure it speaks to the theme strongly enough, but sometimes a very well-executed image overcomes the strength of that one criterion.
Good luck.

Scott,

Thanks. Gotcha @ too sublime theme (I seem to like doing that for some reason).

The objective was for repetition of going in circles and the repetition of day after day, doing more of the same. Those double entendre' efforts never fair well in WA, but I still like trying to make 'em if I can ... kind of in the "self challenge" goal vs. win competition goal to see if I can do a "double".

I guess, if I have to explain it ... well, you know what that means for most folks.

If you're calling yourself a blind dog, I'd say you've been enjoying your stash of bones

Well, us old blind dogs have had a while to build up our stash.

Just a bit of luck involved. Meandering some never before traveled (for me) roads. I just happened to pass that way at that time of day, and it caught my eye. We make our own luck by our efforts and then try to apply our knowledge/skill. But there still is an element of luck involved when it comes to natural light @ cloud movement, subject orientation, etc. and in this particular case ... which way the wind was blowing at that time of day.

Actually, the wind kept shifting directions and intensity, so composition and rotation speed were anything but consistent. I was trying to capture a shutter speed relative to the wind/rotation speed that would not look frozen, yet have a full circle blur with some indication of the individual blades. The "see through" the blades was an added bonus to be able to see the tail. I was trying to capture one with the tail "outside" the blades, but I kinda dig the "see through" on this one.

This was shot from a roadside vantage point with 300mm @ 1/50 sec to get the blur, so I was on the tripod @ f/25. I set up in the back of my truck to get a higher vantage point so the angle wasn't "looking up" as much. Not quite ala AA's platform, but something along those lines.

Hence, even a blind dog finds a bone.
