I'm sure that all you folks that have fall colors on your minds are probably getting a little tired of the beach scenes. But I am sitting here, a little bored, waiting for TS Karen to make her appearance. So far it is a big dud. We will probably get some wind and waves tomorrow, but I think it will be minimal in impact.
I almost didn't get to take this shot. It was on a Friday after work and I had to work a little late. I got home, changed, threw my stuff in the car and rushed to this location. The sun was close to the horizon when I got there and I was partially running in the sand trying to find a suitable composition. Along the way, I realized that I had knocked my lens shade and cover off and so I had to retrace my steps and find them. Then it was another near run back towards the beach. After about a quarter mile, I saw this and realized I didn't have much time left. So I quickly set up and started squeezing off some shots. There were some low clouds rolling in and I didn't know if I was going to get much after the sun went down and I was right. Pretty much when the sun hit the horizon, the clouds blanked out any remaining color. I probably took pictures for less than 20 minutes and then the color was gone.
I hadn't even had time to check my settings. Fortunately they were close enough.
This will be the last of this series. Hopefully the Feds will reopen the parks soon and Karen will not have knocked the oats off the sea oats. I am itching to get back out there.
