Just incase some of you are curious of what a female Orange Bishop looks like,
I finally got a semi descent shot of one, I also included a male for comparison.

Thanks for looking.

Interesting how most bird species have evolved. Here I wonder which must really stand out in order to attract the opposite sex and which gets to pick and choose?

Thanks for the duo, Tim. Beautiful images.
The male is certainly identifiable even to non-birders like me.
The female- although she's a cutie- is just another LBBJ to me (little brown bird jobbie) .

Very nice shots Tim. I've never seen an orange bishop, but your stunning pics have convinced me to start looking for them.

Thanks Tam, there were 2 males in the area and I counted about 5 females.
The reeds where they would show up every once in awhile made it difficult
to get a shot but well worth the days of trying

Dorian,
I wish you the best of luck. They frequent areas with fresh water mostly riverbeds, etc.,
the same areas as Nutmeg Mannikins.
