I took this image in Oregon at sunrise,,We didn't get any real color, but I wont complain. Lighting was perfect.
No HDR,,increased shadows,,decreased highlights, increased contrast , used viveza on the clouds. and pixel genius for sharpening and finally used grad filter in LR to decrease exp just a pinch!
Nice textures in this one. It did look a bit HDR to me when I first looked at it...maybe the foreground highlights are a little bright given the dark sky?
I think you did a good job with the processing. It doesn't feel HDR to me. But, there is something that just doesn't quite sit right. Not sure if it's the color of the green and brown in the foreground... maybe it just needs a touch more contrast? Maybe give it a saturation boost a little...

I tweaked it just a pinch!!! I took down a few highlights in the rocks, increased contrast by 5% and saturation by 10%
Nice composition with soft light, but I agree about weird feeling.
May I suggest following steps for more natural look:
1. Reduce brightness on the bottom only, ~40
2. Increase blue/cyan saturation overall ~25-30
3. Increase red saturation for the sky only, ~30
(numbers are for PS)

Beautiful shot!
You mention a couple of plug-ins, viveza and pixel genius, and I am not familiar with either. Do these make a big difference as opposed to just using Lightroom and going into Photoshop for anything LR can't handle?

I used to have a problem over sharpening my images,,with pixel genius I no longer have an issue...Viveza is part of the Nik Filter suite,,,
