Knee issues have kept me ot of the field for a bit, but I managed a couple of days in the Wilson Creek/ Grandfather Mountain/ Linville Gorge area of North Carolina. First two are from Beacon Heights on the BRP and the last three are from the Summit of Hawksbill on the rim of the Linville Gorge.

Great set! #1, 3 and 4 are my favorites. #4 is special for all the texture you were able to get out of the low clouds.

Hey Mark,

That's great that you got back out. #3 is my favorite, I do like #1 also, but I think cropping it to a pano crop would really strengthen it. Lose about half of the bottom.

Thanks for the kind comments. I've been using the 100-400 more and more for extracted landscapes. Really enjoy the compressed look. If you look closely in the lower left third of # 4 you can see a water tower standing on one of the ridges. i almost removed it but I thought it really added a sense of scale.

Cool shots! I really like #3 and #5, with the various parts of sunlight coming through the clouds.
